Harrie Heath – Actor & Theatre Maker
I escaped from the womb with a flair for the dramatic and paintbrushes in hand. 25 years later and you have the actor and theatre maker that stands before you !
Hello, I am Harrie Heath. A self-proclaimed odd ball and a born creative, it’s a pleasure to see you here in my little corner of the internet.
It is exciting to say that I am a soon to be graduate of East15 Acting school, who’s about to be unleashed upon the industry.
On this page you will find out a little more about the woman behind the work.
South west based actor
I was born and raised in Swindon Wiltshire, originally an Anglo-Saxon settlement but now it’s a fusion of industrial and rural land. I was brought up with both of those worlds combined. Perhaps this is where my strong work ethic comes from. Oh, and my love of mud, well clay. I love to sculpt and make an absolute mess with clay and I have utilised this both on stage and behind the scenes…
My Mother, Janet Dearing, is one of the strongest influences on me as a person and as an artist. Janet is an incredibly empathetic and resilient woman, an everyday reminder of the strength women wield. Ohhh Hello Feminism, you crept up on me there. Politics are incredibly important in the arts, for the makers, the performers and the audience alike. I adoring injecting feminist values in process and performance, further I encourage others to do the same with gender identity and sexual politics. It was a roller coaster of a journey discovering my own sexual identity, now I am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. I strive for the equal representation of LGBTQ+ community in the theatre I collaborate with and create.
It is a beautiful thing to incorporate who you are into the work that you create, this is where I find the illusive concept of ‘Truth’ in performance. As our old bearded fellow famously wrote:
‘This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day . . .’
